Workshops offered can be tailored to the needs of participants. One workshop is designed to support staff or volunteers who support others in the line of work or assistance. The second is to introduce participants to basic strategies for reducing stress.

WS1: Psychosocial skills training for rural businesses

Tailored psychosocial training for businesses who wish to better equip staff to interact with stressed customers or clients affected by adversity.

This is a short workshop designed for front-line staff or employees whose role involves interacting with members of the community who may have cause to be anxious, worried, stressed or depressed.

Participants will be introduced to the core principles of psychological first aid and how these can be applied and integrated when conversing with or listening empathically to clients.

Workshop attendees will also have the opportunity to practice basic skills such as mindfully active listening and responding in ways to enhance resilience.

By undertaking this training, participants will feel more confident to respond in empathic and helpful ways to customers who are under stress.

WS2:  Basic meditation, mindful attention and psychological strategies for decreasing stress

An introduction to effective strategies for decreasing stress

This is an introductory workshop designed to introduce participants to the basics of mindful attention, meditation, focusing and stress reduction techniques.

Sessions will be very practical and participants will be gently encouraged to hone their capacity to be centred, reflective, still and mindful.
