In recent times, a number of violent global and Australian events have infiltrated the lives of Australians through saturated media coverage, challenging the essence and order of humanity as we know it. Attacks on the liberty of other; the innocent loss of lives and the rich and developed world’s tardy response to the Ebola crisis can leave us sometimes despairing and grieving to the point where it starts to interfere with our everyday thoughts and moods. This 3 hour workshop is an opportunity to share the impact that such events have had on you personally now or in the past and to gain insight into the nature of vicarious stress and trauma. Strategies to help alleviate distress experienced will be offered.
